How the Index Works

Transparent weights. The formula changes only during the first two completed weeks so one early result does not overwhelm the board.

Quality wins use the opponent's record at the selected checkpoint. Projection strength is decision-support context, not an official ESPN ranking. Once three 2026 weeks are complete, the 2025 baseline is removed entirely.
